Step onto the mat where faith, movement, and breath shape young lives with purpose and gentleness. At Hikola Christian Movement, children and teens are invited to meet Jesus not only through each inhale, exhale, and stretch of the body but also with literature, journaling, drawing and dancing. Hikola, which means breath of life in Yanomami language, a Brazilian Amazon indigenous tribe, speaks to breath as spiritual force - a reminder that life's very rhythm is sacred in God's eyes. For families throughout Pacifica and the Bay Area, this women-led nonprofit gathers roots deep in community and grows upward into a practice that feels both ancient and fresh.
